Welcome to
Dani's G Gauge Train Site!

Welcome to Dani's G-Gauge Train site! My name is Eric and I'm a big O-Gauge train fan. My wife, Dani, has taken a liking for cute holiday themed G-Gauge trains. Our first G-Gauge set was an LGB christmas set that we bought in 2005. It's a very nice set, but it doesn't have any sound effects. Our newest set is a 2008 Lionel "Holiday Tradtitions" G-Gauge Christmas set. It's got some nice holiday themed songs and is quite cute. Anywhere, here are some pictures of Dani's trains. Enjoy!

New 2008 Lionel Holiday Traditions G-Gauge Set

Our newest G-Gauge addition is Lionel's new "Holiday Traditions" set from their 2008 catalog. We've also ordered the additional "Calliope" car, but that has not arrived yet. Overall, the set is pretty good. There are a few weird features that were most likely cost-cutting moves by Lionel. For one, you can't modulate the speed. It either goes forward or backwards at a set speed. The rail contacts are also a little odd. Instead of having the wheels themselves conduct the electricity needed to run the cars, each truck has spring loaded metal studs that scrape along the rails while the train moves. This odd approach works, but it results in a very noisy train. On the good side, the remote control is a nice feature, the music played by the engine is enjoyable and the track is pretty well made. All in all, it's a very cute set and my wife loves it.
